I don't know what your sewing room looks like when you are in the middle of making a quilt but mine currently looks a MESS! :) This is what I'm working on!
On January 18th I'm joining Sue Knapp from O'Susannah's Quilts and Gifts while she Demo's the Quick Curve Ruler at a local quilt guild. Sue and I both purchased the Quick Curve Ruler from Sew Kind Of Wonderful both thinking it would be a good ruler to test out and we are both glad we did!! Last week Sue and I worked together getting all the fabric picked out and cut out. The ruler was really easy to work with, we had all the fabric cut in no time at all!
I've been working at putting the blocks together, at first I thought that I absolutely had to pin the curves before sewing in order for the blocks to come out but after putting together a couple of blocks I figured I'd give a try (per the quilt's instructions) to sew it together without pinning the blocks. It worked!! I'm serious! The curves are so gentle that the block goes together without any issues at all!
I've got all the blocks sewn, my next step is to square them all up, which according to the directions I can also do this with my new ruler, I'll let you know how it goes! I'm really excited about getting this quilt done! I can't wait to get it onto the Long Arm, I'm going to use all different colors of thread to quilt it. The thread colors are Lapis Lazuli, Aswan, Limestone, Red Sea, DeNile, Charriots of Fire, Luxorious, Wisteria Lane & Temple (don't those names sound wonderful? Wait until you see how beautiful they are!!)!!
Tomorrow morning is Tea & Friendship Club at The Scarlet Thread in Webster, I so enjoy going and spending time with fellow quilters! Hope you are having a fantastic Tuesday!
Happy Quilting!!
Love happy surprises! The quilt is going to look fantastic! Can't wait to see it finished and to see how you quilt it up and thanks so much for your nice post!
