Beautiful Quilts!

I'm a little behind on posting pictures of customer's quilts!

I really like the dimension that this quilt has, the placement of the fabric colors is wonderful, it almost has a 3D feel to it!  The inside green/brown Batik block have a floating appearance against the brown and cream blocks and the border fabric perfectly frames the entire quilt!  Love it!

Here's a close up!

This quilt is so sweet and it is backed with flannel, just imagine cuddling up with this quilt on a cool spring night!  This would definitely be one of the quilts I would want to take out on the deck with me to watch the stars as soon as the snow melts!  Quilted with Soft and Sweet quilting pattern and White Linen thread.

1600 Quilts are FANTASTIC!  They are quick, easy and you can make an entire top for a reasonable amount of money!  Remember that in a couple of months when all of your nieces and nephews are asking for a quilt for graduation to take to college with them!

Quilting pattern is Cotton Candy with White Linen thread.
I am a pastel kind of girl so these quilts were so wonderful to work on!!

Batiks are BEAUTIFUL!
This pattern is really beautiful, the sewing job wonderful and the fabric choice is exceptional!

Quilting pattern is one of my favs, Wild Mouse and Lapis Blue/Purple variegated thread was used.

Aren't all of these quilts beautiful?

Happy Quilting!!

Taxi Quilt!

I had a chance today to take a look at the book "Fast and Fun First Quilts" by Sara Diepersloot, talk about wonderful fast and easy quilts! What I liked best about these patterns is that the quilts don't resemble your typical quick quilts! For example the Taxi Quilt that I posted about on March 11th is from this book!

If you get a chance you might want to take a look at this book, it has logs of great patterns!

Happy Quilting!

Anyone for a NYC Taxi Ride???

When I picked up this quilt from The Scarlet Thread in Webster NY I knew EXACTLY how I wanted to quilt it!!  I really like the fact that the quilt has really large blocks to quilt in and that is exactly what I took complete advantage of!!

This is one of those patterns that the top is quick and easy to put together and I love the color combinations!  I quilted most of this quilt in Edge to Edge designs which made the quilting part of it easy too!  As follows is exactly what I quilted and where!!

Here's a view of the entire quilt quilted!

In all of the Dragonfly  borders and blocks I quilted a Dragonfly pattern!  I know, it really didn't take much thought on my part but I thought it was a fitting pattern for the fabric!!

In the 'cross bar' block (top right) I used an Argyle pattern and love how it looks!

Again, I know it didn't take a whole lot of brain power but in the block with the white background and the black leaves I quilted a simple edge to edge pattern called Simple Leaf!

The block right next to the leaves is one of my favorite blocks it's all circles so I quilted Wild Mouse which is a fantastic pattern of all circles!!

This picture really shows off the pattern in the yellow borders, my favorite Wavy Cross Hatch pattern!!!  A great all around border pattern!!

Aren't those HUGE flowers fantastic??  The quilting has the same HUGE flowers!!

Another great shot of the Wavy Cross Hatch Borders!

A close up of the Argyle pattern!

Click on the picture for a CLOSE up!

Here are my leaves and more of the Wavy Cross Hatches!

So many Circles here!

I think I'm in love with this flower pattern!  I'm going to have to use this one again!

Aren't the Dragonflies cute?

When I delivered the quilt today to The Scarlet Thread in Webster NY they told me that this quilt is going to end up going to her granddaughter because the colors reminded her of a NYC Checker Taxi Cab and she is so right, it does!  Anyone up for a NYC Taxi ride in Webster NY?  If so head on over to The Scarlet Thread!

Happy Quilting!!

It's The Little Things That Count!

It really is the little things in life that count!  I was getting completely frustrated with all of my Long Arm Threads and with keeping the bobbins with the right cones of thread!  My Long Arm Room was turning into a complete Thread disaster!  HUSBAND to the rescue!

Happy Quilting!

One Quilt, Two Quilts, Three Quilts, MORE!! Cont.!

You saw One Quilt....  Now here's Two Quilts!

A Jelly Roll!  I LOVE these quilts!  They are so individual and all so pretty!

The quilting pattern is Berry Vine and the thread color is Caravan!

A very beautiful Quilt made by Jane!!  Great Job!

And now for THREE QUILT!  You aren't going to believe this one, it is stunning!!!

Isn't it beautiful?  This quilt is Custom Quilted.

It is quilted with Sands of Time thread color.
The pieced block was quilted with Allissa Block 2.

It's hard to see in these pictures but the setting triangles were quilted with Feathers.

The Feathers weave their way around the pieced blocks.

Here's a close up of the blocks.

And now for the BACK!
The backing material is black with a small gold leaf, the perfect back for this quilt!

Here you can see the way the Feathers weave their way around the blocks.

This quilt was a joy to quilt, it is a truly exceptional quilt!

That's One Quilt, Two Quilts, Three Quilts and MORE to come!!!

Happy Quilting!!

One Quilt, Two Quilts, Three Quilts, MORE!!

One Quilt:

Everyone is different when it comes to how they want their quilts quilted, some people like really open quilting, others prefer to have their quilts tightly quilted, some like all Edge to Edge designs and other's like custom quilting.  I can honestly say that this week has been a complete mixture of all of these types of quilting and I've loved it!

ONE QUILT is a quilt that is on the small side (small compared to what I recently completed!), it's a perfectly square 60" quilt and is a shop sample.  I was asked to quilt whatever I wanted, with whatever color thread I wanted!

Here it is!  I'm really happy with how it turned out.  First things first, the pattern that was used to quilt this quilt is a Christmas Flower by Sweet Dreams Quilt Studio and the thread color is Cedar King Tut Thread.

I love the back of quilts!  If you click on the picture you can see it up close!

Another picture of the front!

This is the border.  The pattern didn't come or have a border available for it so I made my own!  Yes I LOVE my Gammill Statler Stitcher!!!  I can do so much with it!  This is what I did, you can see that right next to the border is the actual pattern that I took the flower from and the connecting 'flower bud' and put them together to create a border.  Neat!

Here's a snapshot of the complete block, you can really see where I got the border from!

Check back for Two Quilts!

Happy Quilting!

Welcome March!

March always seems like the longest month ever for me!  This year it came in like a Lamb so I'm wondering if it really will go out like a Lion or not!  We'll have to wait and see!

Quilting has been busy!!  There is a lot happening in my sewing world right now.  For starters, the Snowman Alphabet, I've been busy working on it!  Here's the latest piece to be finished up:

This pattern is from Crabapple Hill Studios and I'm in LOVE with it!  I am finishing it up for a Shop Hop that is going to be happening in April this year, I'm busy stitching away!  Wish me luck!

I've been busy quilting for Quilts of Valor and there are a couple of Quilt shows coming up in our area and I've been busy getting quilts done for those shows.  Here's a couple of snapshots of what I've been up to!

Remember how I was having such a hard time getting pictures of the entire quilt?  Well my dear Husband fixed my problem for me AND it was VERY inexpensive!  Under $20.00!  I'm still amazed at how functional curtain rods can be!

Another Quilt of Valor.

Patty, who made and donated this quilt made a total of 4 quilts for this cause and all of them were of really bright and cheerful colors!

This is a 1600 Quilt and every one of them are so different!
Isn't it fantastic that you can finally see the entire quilt!

This is a shop sample for a local quilt shop and it was quilted in Limestone thread color (a bright Lime Green and Bright Yellow) and was quilted in all circles!  Talk about WILD!!

A close up so you can see the quilted circles!

Sorry this picture is a little dark!  A perfect Throw size quilt!  Something to snuggle up with on this cool winter nights.  The quilting pattern is Ivy Trellis.

1600 Here we go again!

Perfect for all those new Grand Babies out there!  Did I tell you we are having our own little baby BOOM in our family?  We've got babies due in May, June and August this year!  Not certain how we happened to miss July!  I've heard that one of them MAY have Margaret in their name!!!  YEAH!

I would LOVE this quilt on my dining room table!  Too bad it's not mine! :(  Yes, I still insist on putting quilts on practically everything in my house!

Please excuse my lack of cropping!
This was the 2012 Quilt Club Quilt at O'Susannah's Quilts and Gifts in Watkins Glen NY.

Close up of the center block.  Some people did needle turn, others did the button hole stitch and others top stitched this block.  All ways completed it is beautiful!

Close up first, it's it sweet?

I've always been a pastel kind of girl!

Okay, now I'm being really BAD because I can't remember who's quilt this one is or when I quilted it!  I'm so very sorry!  If it's yours please email me so I can put your name with it!

Another HUGE quilt!

My husband (is an avid hunter and all around sportsman) thought this was the greatest quilt ever!  It really is a wonderful quilt!  It is all flannel and the quilting pattern matched the quilt to perfection!  The quilting is an all over design of Pine Trees, Log Cabins and Deer!

Here's the center panel and Beth designed the borders herself!  She did a great job!

It's that time of year again ~ Yup time to get all those quilts done that are for wedding presents!

I hope this bride & groom realizes how lucky they are!

I think I was a little punch happy or quilting happy when I did this one!  This is a shop sample and I was told I could do anything I wanted to and I did!  For the quilting patterns I combined two blocks together an one block is Zig Zags and the other is all Squigglies!  (Squigglies is not a word! SORRY)  I thought it was cute!

Check back later this week to see what's on the Long Arm now!  I put it on last night and I can't wait to see it all done!

Happy Quilting!
